From Dev to Design: Leamington Spa – the Capital of Digital Creativity

Here at Campbell Marsh, our design and PR teams are lucky enough to call the lovely town of Leamington Spa ‘home’. We take a look at why the Warwickshire town, which featured in The Sunday Times 101 best places to live, has become the Midlands’ capital of creativity and why design in Leamington Spa is thriving.

Leamington Spa is a small town in the heart of Warwickshire. It had the title ‘Royal’ bestowed upon it by Queen Victoria following a visit in 1838. Although when the Queen last popped into the Pump Rooms for a glass the town’s famous waters is a moot point amongst the locals.

Today’s Leamington Spa

Today, Leamington Spa has become well-known for its award winning gardens, independent shops and lovely buildings. However, amongst the Regency architecture and beautiful parks is one of the strongest creative clusters in the UK.

Spearheaded by a thriving games development industry (the area currently accounts for about 10% of the total UK gaming employment) digital media, development and design is big business in Leamington Spa, with over 1,000 designers and programmers living within a 15-mile radius of the town alone.

Design in Leamington Spa

Leamington Spa is a flourishing centre for creative industries too. Home to some of the very best young talent around, at Campbell Marsh we have a design studio packed full of creativity and enthusiasm.

Our teams of designers and web developers believe design isn’t just about creating something good to look at, it’s about clarity and a satisfying experience. We enjoy nothing more listening to the challenges our clients face and then creating a compelling and engaging design-led solution that helps them to achieve their objectives. And Leamington Spa provides us with the perfect setting to do so. It must be something in the water!
