BOSS – the British Oil Security Syndicate – wanted to participate in industry events that would boost its profile among potential customers. Campbell Marsh recommended that BOSS should exhibit at the fuel retail sector’s premier event, the Forecourt Show. BOSS enlisted our help to manage its attendance and design its stand.
With prime stand spaces in demand at the Forecourt Show, Campbell Marsh moved quickly to secure BOSS a prominent open corner location in an area of likely high footfall.
The appearance of the stand was vital to branding. To achieve a striking look we designed a set of five pull-up banners which stood together to form a complete backdrop for the five-metre space. The banners promoted BOSS’s crime-fighting and debt recovery schemes, as well as introducing its new online electronic reporting system. One banner carried a QR code which could direct show goers with an enabled smartphone to visit the new BOSS website, which went live shortly before the event. With BOSS also revealing a new vehicle checker app to enable retailers to match registration numbers to the car, we arranged for demonstrations to be available on wall-mounted tablets so that visitors to the stand could try it out for themselves.
Behind the scenes, we issued a series of press releases to support the BOSS attendance, including announcing the findings of the annual BOSS forecourt crime survey. We also took care of all show administration, making sure all necessary exhibitor forms were submitted in time and organising power, lighting and internet connection for the stand.
The show proved to be a great success for BOSS, with a significant number of fuel retailers becoming new members during the three days that doors were open.
