FIS is the trade body that represents the building finishes and interiors sector. FIS was formed out of the merger of AIS and FPDC and introduced a new identity in 2015. Campbell Marsh proposed a complete overhaul of SpecFinish magazine by adopting a new editorial policy and a fresh new look. Research by Campbell Marsh had shown that subscribers felt the existing magazine provided a strong and powerful representation of the sector with respected content, however, it needed to appeal to more than just the core contractor readership.
Our answer was to devise a contemporary picture-led format with clean typography. The use of the new branding’s colour pallet was introduced to signpost sections and themes; all sitting within a new shape and size.
The integrated Campbell Marsh editorial and design team is responsible for research, writing, design and distribution. In addition Campbell Marsh generates all the advertising income, which has steadily grown since it took on this role, to cover production costs with any profits returned to the association.
